Plant density influences yield, yield components, lint quality and seed oil content of cotton genotypes

Choosing suitable varieties and manipulating plant population are crucial management aspects in any cropping system that goals to improve yield, quality the balance between demand environmental resource availability. A two-year field experiment was conducted at Tehran, Iran, a split plot design replicated thrice examine effect of planting density (low, moderate high) on ten cotton genotypes. In term lint yield among genotypes G8 (1269 kg · ha −1 ), G4 (1263 G1 (1239 ) G2 (1123 were statistically par with each other but significantly superior G7 (914 G9 (936 ). Lint high (1386 found be remarkably over medium low (1029 890 , respectively) by average 25.7% 35.7%, respectively.
